Mark Gahr, Guitar & Vocals |
Born in the teaming metropolis of Florissant, Mo., a product of Hazelwood Schools. Began guitar at the age of ten, on a cheap flattop from Nash Music at Village Square Shopping Center in Hazelwood. Having shown some aptitude for music, Mark was rewarded with a real electric – a Gibson Firebird. At age 14, he taught guitar at that same Nash Music Store. Local notables, the Arter Brothers were early influences there. Early band names: the Reverberations and Voyage (dubbed the Mighty Iron Voyage). Later came some professional gigs with Bob Kuban, Ralph Butler (locally), Spike Jones Jr. (West Coast), and many local and traveling rock/ MOR bands. Following a long respite, inspired by a fabulous funk bass player in Kansas City and an impromptu jam session, Mark came out of retirement to join the Fuzzy Bridges Band, with Kevin and Paul. The three have been jamming ever since - usually with George, the core of Step'n'Out! |

Paul Ohlman, Keyboards & Vocals |
Paul began musical training in grade school. Dad played violen, guitar and ukulele and Paul started accordian lessons. Dad could be rough when they played together. He broke a bow on Paul's head once but no worry. He was a great dad and teacher. Paul played "Oliver" in the high school musicial in his first year. This opened up a whole new world - it was his first taste of how fun and satisying music could be. In his first band he played accordian with a microphone he installed. He bought a used Wurlizter electric piano and then a Farfisa organ and so on. He formed and joined lots of bands in the 1970s-1990s performing locally and on the road in bands such as: Starship Enterprise, White Starline, Brown Beans and Ham, and Fuzzy Bridges (featuring some of the same members of Step'n'Out!). Paul also worked as a studio engineer at Sugar Creek Records. He has spent years producing custom soundtracks for US Bank and other projects. He is also an IBEW #1 Audio Tech for the St. Louis RAMS. |
